Riding Season is here! Well, kind of.
This last week I was in Bend for 4 days. It snowed for two. Hoodoo ski resort announced that the upcoming weekend would be their final of the season, even though they had a 167-inch base! Mt. Hood meadows still has 226 inches, and Timberline lodge has a record 240 inches still on the ground. While I am sure the skiers are rejoicing, I for one am not! Some of my favorite roads involve higher elevations in the Cascade Range, and I am sure that they are still buried with the white menace. Since I now travel to Eastern Oregon on a regular basis in my job, I can tell you that there is still lots of snow all over the place. Coming back from Bend today via Maupin, it was plenty cold, with little sign of Spring. Lousy snow.
Hey, did you go to the open house and enter to win the new Bonneville? Normally I don’t enter our own club contests, but I think I might just ask Janice if I can on this one. Hmmmmm, two Bonnes in my garage. One just for company. Sounds nice, eh?
One last item Rats. For those of you that want to host a ride, remember to use the ride board on our website. Just post when and where to show up and take along some friends. And remember, RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE!!!
Ride safe Rats,
Lee
